haven't read them, but I've listened to a preview of both stone blind and Pandora's jar on audible and in the Pandora's jar preview. She talks about Medusa how she didn't feel Sorry for her at first because she was just a monster. But then later discovered
The other myth, she's sympathetic and then I see a few years later, he writes stone blind. And i'm guessing shev makes medusa more sympathetic and perseus the villain. Does she not realize in the original greek stories that She was just the monster? She's feeding off the later Roman tale, which is fine. But she should note this.Does she say anything about this cause I feel like she just considers the roman medusa "cannon" and disregards the original monstered greek medusa. Which is kind of disappointing because she seems to know her stuff. it looks like she's just grinding in for the hit pop feminist millennial/ gen z roman victim madeusa. Does she talk about the monster medusa in her books?

Yeah she definitely leans into the Ovid version pretty hard in Stone Blind – the whole SA backstory becomes central to the narrative. She does acknowledge the earlier Greek sources where Medusa was just born a monster but kinda brushes past it to focus on the “wronged woman” angle. It’s not necessarily bad writing but you’re right that she could’ve been more explicit about which tradition she’s following and why
