I’ve recently discovered how much I enjoy true science fiction, stories that lean into real science while still delivering great drama and characters. My favourite film is Interstellar after all. I started 2026 with Project Hail Mary, which I absolutely loved. That led me to The Martian (a film I already loved), and I’ve just finished Dark Matter. As a totally unrelated aside, Dungeon Crawler Carl also absolutely rules.
I’m really into science-heavy dramatic fiction like these, where the science actually matters to the story, the stakes feel somewhat plausible.
Would anyone be able to recommend anything else along these lines?
