A story that is so well-written it made other books feel “bland” for a while?

I recently dived deeply into the world of Borges and those who have been inspired by him such as Susanna Clarke and Steven L. Peck. They all have such deep and catchy writing styles that regular fiction novels feel kind of bland to me now. So what are the books/writers that "ruined" you in a similar way?
