I am 26(f) and want to learn more about how we got to the world we live in where sexism continued to exist through history in its many different forms and shapes.
Now that I get older I realise more and more in the conversations and interactions that I am having the underlying sexism towards woman. That could be from „silly“ little comments up to structural problems in society.
I want to learn about these structures and how we got here. What does sexism actually mean and in what forms does it happen.
Some themes and behaviours are actually obvious whereas others tend to be more hidden in the subconscious.

This isn’t exactly on topic, but a related read you may find interesting is Delisions of Gender by Cordilia Fine. She looks at the science (or not) behind stereotypes and biases based on gender and sex and examines how deeply entrenched they are, despite the evolution of some of those stereotypes.
