i dont mind gore and love psychological horror. body horror is also a big plus. im 20 and i havent been in school a while so its been a hot minute since ive properly read a full book ^^' ive read blurbs, but i recently listened to all of "we used to live here" on audible and i enjoyed it. i got a subscription for my friend and i to share and just bought "not even bones" on it- a book i read in grade school for fun. i own "house of leaves"and "how to sell a haunted house" but i have yet to read them. i also own but havent read "incidents around the house" but i already know the plot yo it and know i will enjoy it. ive enjoyed james patterson books in the past (adult thrillers, not the YA/Tween/Teen books), and am interested in trying Stephen Kings works. my favourite horror literature youtuber is davis morgan. ive also enjoyed "penpal" a lot and am sad its not on audible, i read it fully a few years back online.

with this in mind, does anyone have any horror books fit my niche? preferably on audible but im not opposed to picking up a soft cover either. i dont mind slow burn horror (like "we used to live here") or anything particularly gory, nsfw, or body squelching. i like to enjoy content about a book afterwards as well, so an added benefit would be at least mild popularity so i can find video essays or discussions on it if i miss anything or get confused.

thank you in advanced for the help!
