I read too much, that’s the big and tall of it. I need a book that’ll make me say “no way, never again“. Poorly written, too long, too short, too dry. So mediocre and run of the mill it makes you forget captivating books even exist.

It took me a while to recover after reading infinite jest. What a fucking slog with terrible payoffs.
No matter how much you dislike a book, somebody will enjoy it. As with anything that is a personal matter of taste.
Having said that, I will give you a recent DNF for me. Off With Their Heads by Zoe Hana Mikuta. I don’t mind having to work to figure out what is going on in a strange book. But this book bested me. Who knows, you may love it.
Incidentally, I hope you are joking about wanting to stop reading. Reading is one of the greatest pleasures in my life.
