Lately I have realised that the book stays longer with me after reading them are mostly by Female authors.

    – Amrita Mahale

    – Shirley Jackson

    – J K Rowling

    – Colleen Hoover

    – Harper Lee

Although I have not read all of their works but have read at least one of their books.

    1. Middlemarch by George Eliot is one I recommend as it’s very deserving of its classic status.

    2. Oh, Shirley Jackson is awesome, isn’t she?

More: The Brontë sisters, Jane Austen, George Eliot, and my personal fave, Edith Wharton

Highly recommend adding Octavia E Butler to your list if you have any interest in sci fi/ speculative fiction.
