I know there are a few posts here about American history but I’m trying to find stuff that has more to do with culture and everyday life.

I recently bought a bunch of travel/reference books published anywhere from 1920-1940, and I’m in love with how these describe common things like meals/clothing/hygiene/books/daily activities.

It all makes me crave more information about the daily lives of people throughout the 21st century, even up to differences in the nineties and stuff!

I don’t know if there’s any such books out there, but I’m open to recommendations 😀

    Thank you in advance!!!

    1. The Helen MacInnes spy books 40-65 are usually set in Europe, but you get a real feeling of just what college educated people would do while traveling. She adds a punch of scenic despcriptions that Ian Fleming did not really good.
