Recently I met someone while browsing books in a bookshop, all of their books were annotated. It kinda piqued my interested, despite being the shy kind I asked her if I can have a look at the books ( they were classics, like 1984, The Trial etc ) all of them were annotated. Maybe one or two words to one or two sentences. It seemed interesting. I do have some old books in my collection that have annotations. I also wanna try it out but I just don't know how to execute it. Also a comment I found online was funny but maybe slightly true? (Bold of you to assume I have opinions or thoughts)

Anyway the thing is as I said before don't know how to Do It. And most importantly I don't wanna ruin my books, I like to have my books neat and clean. But I wanna try this too!

    Would appreciate some insights

Start with a cheap paperback copy or something you don’t mind marking up – once you get into it you’ll probably want to annotate everything anyway lol

The trick is just writing whatever pops into your head while reading, doesn’t have to be deep literary analysis or anything
