Hello! I am 26F married to 31M for a year and a half now and suggested to my husband that he learns more about the opposite sex. He has no sisters and i had to teach him about A LOT. However, there are some things that i just don’t know how to teach him. Like how we think, what we dreamt of when we imagined our future husbands, how our fathers treated us, how it feels to walk around alone at night. Just normal women things, but i want him to feel them deeply and what better way than being immersed in a fiction book.

Does anyone have any suggestions that I can suggest to him? Doesn’t have to be just one.

I’ve made him watch Little Women which was on the right path i’m looking for.

This is actually really sweet of you to want him to understand women’s perspectives better! For fiction that really gets into the female experience, I’d suggest “The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo” by Taylor Jenkins Reid – it’s got romance but also shows different aspects of being a woman across decades. “Educated” by Tara Westover is technically memoir but reads like fiction and shows how family dynamics affect women. Also maybe “Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine” – it’s funny but deals with loneliness and trauma in ways that might help him understand how women process things differently
