I prefer things with a built universe and not like completely absorbed romance but im a sucker for some trops just suggest what you've like and please add a base description
The three main things im looking for is
a good werewolf series with romance thats not the entire plot
Vampire series with original takes on vampires
Niche and or original supernatural creatures being a main focus
(im not sure how dark these are allowed to go on this reddit but im fine with anything)

Check out the Rivers of London series by Ben Aaronovitch – it’s got this really cool take on magic in modern London with a police procedural vibe, plus the supernatural creatures are pretty unique (river spirits, genius loci, etc). The romance is there but doesn’t overtake the plot at all
For vampires, try The Hollows series by Kim Harrison – the vampires are more like a different species that coexists with humans and witches, not your typical brooding bloodsuckers
Blackwater by Michael McDowell is a masterpiece, and I think it fits the “niche supernatural creature” request. It’s a Southern Gothic horror series following several generations of a wealthy family in Alabama. A mysterious woman appears during a flood, marries into the family, and isn’t quite human. It’s one of my favorites.
