im looking for book recommendations for a friend who is mixed race (black + white) and wants to specifically find more mixed race authors. im sure she would enjoy books by people from different backgrounds than her, but equally it would be nice to find people with relatively a relatively similar background. shes also queer and would enjoy an intersectional read, so anything also dealing with lgbt+, disability, etc would be great!
she studied english lit and i think reads quite a range of things. i know some authors/books shes enjoyed have been: chimamanda ngozi adichie; shakespeare; mary oliver; here comes the sun – nicole dennis-benn. i dont think she would want anything too triggering right now though, so maybe nothing along the lines of martyr by kaveh akbar haha. any recommendations would be appreciated, even if they dont meet all the criteria!!
