I mostly read fiction and everything I've read recently is kind of depressing. Looking for suggestions for more fun stuff. Anything surrealist or magical realism would be great. I would also be interested in thrillers/horror recs, a bit of dark humour that keeps your engaged throughout.

    Thanks!

I recently wrote a short surreal/dark-humor fiction book because I needed something fun but weird, not depressing. If indie recs are okay, I can drop the link.

And “house on the cerulean sea” by linus baker

A thriller that has some magical-ish elements  “wrong place, wrong time” by gillian McAllister, this one I can’t recommend enough it’s fantastic

    3. You might enjoy books by Carl Hiaasen. He writes thrillers/detectives type novels set in Florida. They can be quite absurd bordering on surreal. Many of them deal with Florida’s environment and bad guys getting just deserts. They are really funny and good if you want to be cheered up.
