Hi. Has anyone else read the ' Lonesome dove' quartet. I ask as I'm currently 3/4 through ' Commance moon ' (second book in series) and am struggling to finish it.
The first book, Dead mans walk, was good and well paced, but the second one is very drawn out. Also, main characters are introduced and feature over many pages but then are offed very quickly.
Thoughts?

Someone who’s on TikTok, did Lonesome Dove get super popular over there or something? I’ve seen so many posts and comments from people saying Lonesome Dove was their favorite book they read last year, and I’m sure it’s great but it seems wild that suddenly so much of the internet seems to give af about a 40 year old western all at the same time.
When I finished Lonesome Dove it was immediately in my top 3 books I had ever read. I got about 25 pages into Comanche Moon and decided I did not need to go any further. LD is perfect as a contained story. No need for me to dilute it with lesser sequels.
