I think we’ve all seen the news over the past few weeks-months-years, and it really is taking a toll on me mentally. Books have always helped me through things but I’m not sure what to go for here. My goal is to feel a little more sane and to get some perspective.
What I’m NOT looking for: dystopian teen revolutionaries (been there done that), obvious big name classics like 1984, Brave New World, We, or Fahrenheit 451 (also been there done that), self-help books (not my thing)
What I’m looking for: books about regular adults living through intense and/or demoralizing circumstances where faith in humanity can easily be lost. Can be fiction or non-fiction, can be fantasy or sci-fi or horror – any genre other than romance. I don’t mind romance being part of the story, but I don’t want it as the main focus.
Thank you! Stay safe, stay sane.
