Looking for an Insane Yearning Slow Burn Love That Kills Me

I'M BEGGING. I need a love story that is pure yearning where the characters ache for each other for ages. I want the tension to absolutely ruin me but is also powerful and emotional, that it feels like suffering. Not just 'they like each other' but they are destroyed by how much they want each other. Bonus points if it ends in heartbreak or start as enemies (or both). The romance can even be a sub-plot too as long as it hits hard. And the characters need to feel real and raw and true.

I've read a lot of books where the romance is sub-par and I really don't feel anything, even when I've been told 'it's the greatest love story of our time.' Most of them fall flat for me. Please. Give me a book that will suck the soul out of me and kill me.
