Every once in a while I will be doing something completely normal like washing dishes or walking to my car and a specific scene or a line from a book I read a decade ago will just pop into my head It is amazing how certain stories just live in the back of your brain forever even if you forget the names of the characters or the exact plot details What is that one book for you that left a permanent mark on your mind and why do you think it stuck with you so much longer than others

Exactly this happens to me with these two authors I read over 10 years ago:
– Stories from Ficciones, Arabescas collections by J. L. Borges.
– Moby Dick by H. Melville.
Some sentences, more often pictures and scenes from these books come to mind quite often and they are mesmerizing.
