Books set in criminal underbellies?

I love to read about criminal ubderbellies that aren’t too obvious to the outside world.

Currently, I’m in the mood for something set in either Asia, or maybe the US. When it comes to the latter, I quite enjoyed Lehaney’s “The Drop”.

What else should I read?
