I love Japanese history and want to learn more about it but I can never retain the information with ‘dry’ history books. I thrive on a narrative and getting to know the individuals that are mentioned rather than just a list of names and dates.
Are there any books that are based in feudal Japan and centred around real historical figures (and their exploits) but fleshed out based around what we already know so that you can read it like a true novel?
