I want to read a book about how we got the 5 day work week, and what is successful and unsuccessful when it comes to strikes. Particularly looking for labor strikes.
One of my favorites, although it’s more about labor disputes and the resulting violence in the 19th and early part of the 20th century than it is about strikes per sé.

Erik Loomis – A History of America in Ten Strikes
Seconding Loomis’s book
[Dynamite: The Story of Class Violence in America](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/58652327-dynamite) by Louis Adamic.
One of my favorites, although it’s more about labor disputes and the resulting violence in the 19th and early part of the 20th century than it is about strikes per sé.
It was written in the 1930s but is still in print. The entire book is archived at https://files.libcom.org/files/Dynamite-Louis-Adamic_0.pdf if you want to check it out.
