I would love recommendations for a book kind of like The Awakening by Kate Chopin. I read it recently and loved it, especially finding little symbolic parts and themes. I don't care about anything else. Any genre, any time period, I just need it to get me to think a little, especially since I'm reading to better my mental health. My favorite book of all time is Flowers for Algernon, with its commentary on intelligence and stuff, if that helps. I just want to enjoy a book and not feel more slumped than before.

Highly recommend “The Yellow Wallpaper” by Charlotte Perkins Gilman – it has that same symbolic depth you loved in The Awakening and will definitely make you think about mental health themes without being too heavy.
