Looking for romance or fantasy where theres an MMC with character thats more than just being hot or possessive. I do love overprotective MMCs but in a swoony way not an abusive red flag way😭 im not opposed to a few sex scenes but I dont want graphic smut scenes (or at least easily skippable smut). Any recommendations? I want to read Daughter of No World but my library doesn't have it 🙁

have you tried the priory of the orange tree by samantha shannon? its more epic fantasy but the romance is really well done and the male characters actually have depth. also maybe check out the ten thousand doors of january – its got this dreamy portal fantasy vibe with romance that builds naturally
for something more romance focused the kiss quotient has some steamier scenes but theyre pretty easy to skip if you want. the mmc is genuinely sweet and has his own character arc beyond just pining
also maybe ask your library if they can do an interlibrary loan for daughter of no world since you really want to read it
Ilona Andrews – Kate Daniels series, inkeeper series, and hidden legacy series are my favorites. I think they meet your requirements (some sex but not really that graphic). Plus dang good stories in my opinion
I also really like Nalini Singh – archangel series or the psych changeling series – a little more graphic but I think tasteful as opposed to smut
