OK, so the confession series by James Patterson was a great read to me as a younger adult. I’m looking for kind of the same vibe, but to me it seems as though James Patterson only writes to the younger audience, and at this time I’m almost 30. But I do like mystery novels, detective-type vibes, so could you please put me on something that is congruent with the confessions series by James Patterson?

No? The vast majority of his books are for adults.
I like these series: Alex Cross, Women’s Murder Club, Michael Bennett. Private series is hit and miss. I also like a handful of standalones.
Some of his better collaborators have written their own books, you may like them: Mark T. Sullivan, David Ellis, and Michael Ledwidge.
