There are individuals out there that despite traumatic experiences in their upbringing, have remained kind, generous, trusting, and loving. That’s unfortunately not me.
I’d love recommendations of books that deal with carrying anger, self hatred, shame, and less admirable qualities after difficult experiences. I don’t feel like I connect with self help books, fiction and/or memoirs would be preferred.

I have not read books on this topic but two that have been recommended to me are “adult children of emotionally immature parents” and “discovering the inner mother”
