So sue me… I still like teen fantasy.
Any similar worlds to Cassandra Clare's Mortal Instrument series? But maybe just with less icky teen crushing – though this may not be possible lol
honestly the Infernal Devices trilogy by cassie clare herself might be perfect for you – its the same shadowhunter world but set in victorian london with way more mature romance dynamics. The love triangle actually feels meaningful instead of just angsty teen drama
if you want to branch out completely though check out the Kate Daniels series by Ilona Andrews – urban fantasy with magic/mundane world collision like TMI but the main character is a badass adult who doesnt spend half the book pining. First book starts a bit slow but the world building gets incredible and the romantic subplot is actually well done
