Someone posted in a movie thread that they think movies with a tragic inevitability are more engaging than movies with a plot twist at the end.
It made me want to read a book like that. the only time I can really think about that is Celeste Ng's Everything I Never Told You.
It reminds we have a blurb I read on the back of 25th hour book: something about, this book is about how everything could have and should have been different. But it has the inevitability of showing that things could have only happened exactly as they did.
Looking for a book like that. Preferably no genre fiction (mystery, no sci fi, no fantasy.)
