hello! Im trying to read books that people think everyone should read. no specific genre requirement, I just want to expand my mind. I do prefer fiction but I'll read a non-fiction book if it's really interesting but no self-help style books please. I enjoy books based on history but backed by a storyline, not just informational if tat makes sense.I also enjoy political and governmental structures and how they affect people. But also light-hearted books about romance or friendship are also lovely. really any genre is okay as long as it helps me learn something OR is a classic that you think I just must read. I also want to read more than I usually do so books that are easier to read would be amazing. just for reference, for me, books like east of eden are harder to read than say a thousand splendid suns. anything is greatly appreciated!

Going Postal – Terry Pratchett
The Exorcist – William Peter Blatty
Shadow of the Wind – Carlos Ruiz Zafon
The Murder of Roger Ackroyd – Agatha Christie
Everyone should read Fathers and Sons by Ivan Turgenev. It’s about the decline of romanticism and tradition in favor of nihilism in Russia during the aristocracy. It’s charming and also often pretty funny.
Know my Name by Chanel Miller.
