Hello bibliophiles,
I have a random book question for everyone. I'm an avid reader and have a long list of to-read books that doesn't seem to end. My list contains a collection of novels and professional development books relating to special education and mathematics.
I don't normally purchase books because they are expensive and I already have an entire bookshelf full of a variety of books. I definitely don't need more. I prefer to check out books from the library so they can easily be returned once I finish them.
I'm currently at an educational tech conference for teachers and have learned a variety of things and received a ton of resources. Along with these things, I heard about several educational books that I really want to read.
I checked my local library and they don't have these books that I want to read. I wonder if I should purchase them on Amazon (~ $50 for 3 books) and then try to trade them in to a used book store or leave them in a little free library somewhere around town? They are educational books, so maybe it may be best to keep them. I just have SO many books already.
I suppose the only option is to buy them and then decide to keep them or trade them in. What would you do in this situation? I'm open to any suggestions or advice.
Thanks!!

Have you explored inter-library loans?
I first became aware of this practice through music libraries, specifically, but I am sure regular libraries do it as well.
You can submit a request for your library to purchase those books or facilitate an interlibrary loan with another library that does have the books.
