I want to read 30 books this year, but I haven’t been able to finish one yet. I want something that will just suck me in.

I usually read a lot of fantasy and I’m open to kids books too. I really love Rick Riordan’s books (Percy Jackson, Kane Chronicles, etc), I also really enjoyed The City of Ember series, as well as the Artemis Fowl series. For adult books I’ve read the first book of the Poppy war series and part of the second book but had to take a break. I’ve also really enjoyed the Throne of glass series. My favorite book is actually The Magic of Lemon Drop Pie. Just to give you an idea of the kinds of books I usually go for.

I think something with adventure and the found family trope would be nice. I just want an easy read that is addicting I guess. I don’t think I want to read a romance, but romance as a side plot might be okay.

The Kingdom Keepers series by Ridley Pearson! It’s great fun, even as an adult. It takes place at Disney World where teens are holographic hosts by day, and by night battle to keep the parks safe from the villains. I think it hits your fantasy, a bit of sci-fi, and found family through their friendship. Just be sure to read in order for character and plot development. The first in the series is *Kingdom Keepers: Disney After Dark*

A Deadly Education by Naomi Novik or Katabasis by R F Kuang. Both are lighthearted dark academia type books. The first is about going to a school that magic regularly kills students but teaches magic as well, where she tries to survive (with a romantic subplot), while the second is about going to Hell itself to bring back their awful, distinguished, and now dead graduate advisor (also a romance subplot)
