Greetings fellow readers! Can you recommend some books like the Will of the Many and red rising. But not based om the story, but on the protagonist:
-Story told through the protagonist (male) or centers around his actions (the story , but not necessarily the world). i.e Iron Prince
-The protagonist is confident and capable (good at least at one thing, and knows how to leverage it)
-some academy arc/competitive environment to showcase and highlight the protagonist's abilities and flaws compared to others. (He doesn't have to be the strongest/smartest)
-no LGBTQ as far as the protagonist goes (otherwise anything goes). like Iron Prince.
-No pushing agendas in Netflix's fashion. it has to be natural like Vis from TWoTM trained by Lanistia. Or Valera Dent from Iron Prince being the strongest in the Institute…
And one last thing that I don't know the technical term/novel lingo for. Spoilers for Red Rising second book ahead : What Mustang did with Cassius. she hooked up with him despite him being the protagonist's rival/enemy. While still being technically in love with Darrow (loyalty subversion? betrayal fetishizing? Maybe the author meant it as a challenge to traditional relationship values?). it made me drop the series for quite some time. I'm happy to discuss this further if anyone would like.
