I recently decided I want to get into reading, and I’ve added a lot of books to my list, but now I feel a bit lost because I’m so new to all of this.
I’m really interested in sci-fi and fantasy, but I also want to explore some self-help and philosophy. Since I’m just starting out, I want to rotate between these genres so I can slowly develop my taste and figure out what I actually enjoy, instead of jumping into something I’m not ready for yet.
I recently read The Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka and absolutely loved it. I’d really appreciate it if you could recommend beginner-friendly books for each of the genres I mentioned. Thanks!

Check out Ursula Le Guin’s stuff, both for Fantasy (Wizard of Earthsea) and for Sci-fi (Left hand of darkness etc). She writes beautifully simply without taking away from great storytelling and depth.
