I have put myself on the quest to read a classic (!) book from every culture (or country, to be more specific, if there is an English translation).
I am pretty well-versed in European literature already, I have read all the German classics and a majority of the English literary canon and literature from a part of Eastern Europe (Pan Tadeusz, Quo Vadis, Russian authors) so no reccommendations needed for these regions please!
I am curious about your favorite classic from your culture/country that you would highly recommend to read. Must come with an English translation!
