Which book to pick up next??
What I’ve read recently : the pictures of Dorian gray (5/5). I tried reading one hundred years of solitude and got halfway through but I have no idea what’s happening like the plot was so all over the place and everyone is named the same thing.
What I read in high school that I remember: as I lay dying (3.5/5), heart of darkness (I don’t remember details), Frankenstein by Mary Shelly (5/5) and I read wuthering heights at SOME point in high school but that 10 years ago.

The Black Arrow, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, or Treasure Island – Robert Louis Stevenson
Fahrenheit 451 and The Martian Chronicles – Ray Bradbury
1984 and Animal Farm – George Orwell
A shorter Jules Verne, maybe Around the World in Eighty Days.
Flowers for Algernon
Animal Farm. Nice, quick, fun, depressing read.
For Black History Month:
The Street, by Ann Petry. This is an extraordinary novel about a working class Black woman in Harlem during WW2.
Kindred, by Octavia Butler. I’m a white American dude and this amazing book taught me what it might be like to be an American in an America that hasn’t treated you very well.
