Books that gripped you right away

I'm looking for books that immediately drew you in. if they're audiobooks, that's even better. A few I've listened to recently and enjoyed are Fairy Tale by Stephen King, The Travis Chase series by Patrick Lee, and Demon Copperhead by Barbara Kingsolver. Timeline by Michael Crichton was decent but I wasn't a fan of Jurassic Park. A few I've tried but couldn't get into are Dungeon Crawler Carl and The Color of Magic. I don't like anything related to space. Things like Divergent and The Hunger Games aren't for me either.
