Hi the great people of reddit!
I have recently gotten back into reading (I say recently loosely) and my favorite author of all time is S.E. Hinton. Say what you want about her, but that woman knows how to write.
I really like The Outsiders, That was then this is now, Tex (havent finished) and Rumble Fish. I do enjoy the gritty feelings and how her charecters are living without parents, doing their own thing and learning how to grow up. Im also a female and I think its interesting to read from the male teenage POV.
Id also like to state that I know she was one of the pioneers of YA, therfore she is one of thew few that has the books set in a time she lived through, but I enjoy the retro- vintage feelings that the books are. I dont have a problem with books that end off sad.
Are there any good recommendations for me? I am hoping to finish Tex very soon (I have a few more pages left) but I really wish she had more books that seemed very intriguing to me.
