    hello reddit!!

i read percy jackson and almost all of the following series as a kid and LOVED it. i went on to read some madelline miller books and i love her writing style. after that i felt like i was very interested in greek mythology but i never really got that into it. i have a beginners guide to greek mythology book but it’s honestly pretty boring and im more interested in retellings. i know most people will advise me to read the odyssey and the illiad, which i already own, but im keeping until i have enough knowledge about greek mythology.

so give me any book recommendations and any tips you have for getting into greek mythology!!

also i am ethnically egyptian, so if anyone has any egyptian mythology recs pleasee drop them too. thank you all in advance

    1. Penelopiad – Margaret Atwood

It’s not canon, but an interesting take on Penelope’s experience during the Odyssey.

Stephen Fry’s take on this, Mythos, is usually highly recommended. I haven’t gotten to it yet but it’s on my list. It’s certainly going to be better then Circe either way though…
