I love reading detective novels. Be it historical or contemporary settings.
Im interested in mysteries/detective novels written by authors who aren't known for that topic. What are some writers who wrote a well received one-off mystery book?

I thought Stephen King’s Mr. Mercedes was pretty good. I wasn’t a fan of the sequels as they had supernatural elements to them, but Mr. Mercedes was great.
