I love speculative fiction, leaning toward light sci-fi. Literary fiction is fine as long as it doesn't get pretentious (I apologize but Bunny by Mona Awad is what comes to mind, I absolutely hated that book and had the "twists" figured out right away, which I'm not usually good at doing.) I love Emily St. John Mandel and Margaret Atwood. Didn't love the writing of Project Hail Mary but I did like The Martian. Dystopia is okay, though I can be a little sensitive to it (The Road was really upsetting for me.) Maybe I just don't like anything with a horror element? Humor is always appreciated, especially if it's a bit dry.
