I generally read/listen to murder mystery or gore stuff but having a lot of irl issues so going with these genres are literally giving me nightmares and jolts in sleep.
The problem is I cant even enjoy mild dark yet humor laced stuff like Dungeon Crawler Carl cause of this situation. So Ive been reading We'll Prescribe You a Cat but despite liking it, I cant stick with it as my mind is craving for something more, it's hard to explain..
Looking for:
– comfort read
– moderately simple worldbuilding
– slice of life/romcom/fantasy/scifi
– humor >>>>
– no love triangle or toxic relationship drama
– not a complete dark/gore/tragedy/erotica

honestly sounds like you need some Terry Pratchett – the Discworld books are perfect comfort food with amazing humor and zero gore. start with Guards! Guards! or Mort if you want something that’ll make you actually laugh out loud
the worldbuilding is brilliant but not overwhelming and there’s like 40+ books so you’ll never run out of cozy reading material
