I haven’t read regularly for almost a decade and really want to get back into it. But books that don’t have lots of imagery do not hold my attention. My favorite book ever is Time Travelers Wife, but I also loved The Goldfinch and the HP series.
It doesn’t need to be any specific genre, just please suggest books with lots of rich imagery. That’s what keeps my brain entertained and keeps me reading and I really want to lean into that instead of trying to brute force my way through books that don’t keep my attention!

oh man you have such good taste! if you loved the goldfinch you absolutely need to check out donna tartt’s other books – the secret history is incredible and has this whole dark academia vibe with super lush descriptions. also try the ten thousand doors of january by alix harrow, it’s got this dreamy portal fantasy thing going on with absolutely gorgeous prose
for something a bit different, the priory of the orange tree has amazing world building and imagery if you’re into fantasy at all. and if you want something more literary, anything by isabel allende will blow you away – house of the spirits is a great starting point
