Suggest me a scifi book without military war drama in the focus

Hi guys,

I am looking for a (hard) scifi book that is not focused on war and military drama.
The focus should be on friendship, first contact, science (huge fan of astronom), exploration, dystopia or something like that.

My favourite reads are: Project Hail Mary, The Martian, Bobiverse & Roadkill, some H.G. Wells novels/short stories
