With all this Epstein stuff going on, I can’t seem to stop thinking about power, secret societies, influence, and the world as it appears being a mask for much darker things. Does anyone have any recommendations for stuff along these lines? Fiction and nonfiction are both greatly welcomed.
For non fiction, some favorites of mine that could be considered in this realm would probably be the Rebel by Albert Camus, and simulacra and simulation by Jean baudrillard
The fiction is a little more spread, philip k dick is one of my absolute favorites, Vineland by Thomas Pynchon, white noise by Delillo (not exactly explicitly about power or conspiracy, but feels like it’s about being powerless and controlled in a way), American psycho by Brett Easton Ellis, a bunch of JG Ballard
