Do you have a recommendation for a book that tells a lot about pressure? I am so interested in humans performing under pressure.
I've been watching the Olympics, and Ice skating is a perfect example of what I am looking for:
How does one not fall apart after one mistake? Some of ice skaters made mistake at the beginning and stilll manage to end it perfectly and not to crumble.
Please don't recommend stoicism. I read it all. I am not searching for that kind of book. That is maybe the reason why I would prefer fiction because I need an example, not verbaly guidence. Self-help is a big no!

Hmm, humans performing under pressure…
Try looking into war fiction, particularly WWII. Before he wrote about English cathedrals, Ken Follett had a smash hit with Eye of the Needle, a WWII thriller about a deadly and very effective German spy who attempts to escape from England where he’s been stationed and ends up stranded on a secluded island with a married couple who, of course, have no idea who he is. I found it to be a real page-turner.
Or how about The Guns of Navarone by Alistair MacLean?
Try your library, your local librarian could suggest lots more titles. 🙂
