I host a monthly bookclub and we’re looking for a book that would fit our March theme of celebrating women’s history month & a AAPI/ANHPI author. Looking for books with these themes:

    women’s empowerment

    • sisterhood

    • complex female friendships

    • complex family

    • generational trauma/healing

    • mother/daughter relationship

These are books on my list so far:

    – Pachinko Korean

    The mountains sing Vietnamese

The pearl that broke its shell Afghani

The island of sea women 4.32 Korean

The many daughters of afong moy Chinese

    Late bloomers Pakistani

Any genres welcomed except romance since we read one for Feb.

    1. Hidden Figures (non fiction)

      The Poisonwood Bible

      Flight Behavior

      The Frozen River

      A Thousand Splendid Suns

    2. *Erotic Stories for Punjabi Widows* by Balli Kaur Jaswal would probably be a good pick! Easy reading but still has a lot of heart. It’s got a romance subplot but I don’t know that that’s the primary genre I’d categorize it as (though it’s been a few years since I read it).
