Mothman, el Chupacabra, wendigo, Sasquatch, Jersey Devil, Loch Ness monster, yeti, etc
I’ve read Pet Semetary (wendigo mentions) and I’m currently reading Bad Cree by Jessica Johns (also mentions wendingo but please no spoilers, I’m not done with it yet).

Steve Alten, author of the *Meg* series, wrote *The Loch,* unsurprisingly about the Loch Ness Monster.
It’s very goofy, but it scratched the itch I had for this kind of story.
Also, I haven’t read it, but Max Brooks’ *Devolution* is about Sasquatch, I think.
