I’m looking for a book, and possible series, of the main character fighting invaders of some kind. Similar to Pacific Rim or Ultraman, the main character(s) fights to protect humanity from an otherworldly threat using either a giant robot, science, or magic to go toe-to-toe with the threat.
Bonus points if it’s a battle couple partnership or duo. Romance not necessary.
I’ve read Unity by Jeremy Robinson a few years back and I wanted to read more. Except it was a one-off story and his other works just focus on giant Godzilla-like monsters. Other giant robot books tend to focus on humans vs humans like Battletech while alien invasion books often have thousands of soldiers and ships and not a lone hero or duo.
Basically, I’m trying to find a sweet spot in a Venn diagram that hits all the food groups I’m looking for.
