The topic of male abuse in literature is something I’m extremely interested in, and I’m also a big fan of karmic stories. So I’d be interested in some recommendations for novels where a male abuse victim successfully escapes his female abuser, who gets her comeuppance at the end.

honestly this is such an underrepresented topic in fiction, most abuse narratives flip the gender roles the other way around. i remember reading “big little lies” and thinking how rare it was to see any male perspective on domestic abuse at all, even as a side character
you might want to check out some of nick hornby’s earlier stuff – not exactly what you’re looking for but he writes about emotionally manipulative relationships pretty well. theres also this indie novel called “the arrangement” by sarah dunn that has some elements of what you’re describing, though the “comeuppance” part is more subtle psychological karma than dramatic justice
might be worth browsing through some literary fiction tagged as “toxic relationships” on goodreads and filtering by male protagonists, sometimes the hidden gems are buried in there where you least expect them
