Hi there. I'm looking for recommendations of short stories and/or essays that non-native speakers of English can read to 1. Improve their language skills and 2. Think lol
This means I need something that's fairly modern in terms of language use, and preferably not very dense. Keep in mind that none of these people (young adults – they are between 18 and 21) are into reading though are open to trying – which is why I'm looking for shorter-form content, and not books.
I was thinking Jia Tolentino? Or maybe some of the George Orwell essays? But I'm open to suggestions. Would even consider giving them thought-provoking articles (think new york times articles).
