I've been reading too many historical novels lately, I'm craving a story that happens in a big bustling modern city; preferably a "real-life" type of story, that deals with our common struggles, but I might check some fantasies too. It can be a chick-lit vibe (mind I've read almost all of Sophie Kinsella and Marian Keyes), or be more literary, but nothing too serious please, I don't want to think too much rn 🥲. If romance, no spice. And bonus points if it's from a country other than USA or UK. Thank you in advance!

Try “Convenience Store Woman” by Sayaka Murata – it’s set in tokyo and perfectly captures that modern city alienation without being too heavy, plus it’s a quick satisfying read.
