Hey fellow bookworms! I started 2026 by finishing "The Long Walk" by Stephen King, and watched the movie after which sparked a goal to now read more books then see the movies after!
I loved that book (and movie was good), and am now reading "Project Hail Mary" which (to my own surprise) I love so far. Almost done, and the movie is out next month sooo what else should I add to the list? (And why?) Side note, I have read and seen The Martian which I honestly wouldn't mind adding back to the list for another read/watch.
Only other book/movie combo on my list now is "The Giver" at the moment. I'm pretty open with my reading taste but I sometimes lean towards sci Fi and horror or thriller. I also can go for romance sometimes but it's not my go-to.

Carl Sagan’s sci-fi ***Contact***. The movie was relatively faithful to the book. The endings differed sligthly and the movie played up the romance more.
Dashiell Hammett’s detective noir ***The Maltese Falcon*** which just came into the public domain. I’m surprised how close to the movie the story is, including dialogue. I’m also surprised how less risque the movie is compared to the book.
